About

I’m an Emmy-winning creative and creative director looking for new ways to communicate. 

I grew up between Central Australia and Colorado, lived not only on both coasts of the U.S. but also the big middle bit, and have been in London since 2014.

My college degree is in film production, history and screenwriting, though post-grad I developed an interest (obsession?) in type and typesetting. This led to work in design, which led to work in advertising, tv commercials, print, and eventually interactivity and other new media storytelling. Not knowing what’s next has been the glorious norm.

Over the last 23 years I’ve worked as a designer, art director, writer, creative director and ECD at several of the world’s best creative agencies on many interesting, rewarding clients such as Adobe, The Guardian, Sprint, HP, Babylon Health, The NBA, Geek Squad, Tetley and The JFK Presidential Library.

Most recently I was part of Google’s Global Creative Works team, providing data-driven creative guidance to the top 30 brand partners worldwide. Using both AI and human coding to find patterns in successful creative, I partnered directly with CMOs and marketing teams to improve their work and inspire them for the future.

Parasol is my solo arts & culture practice, and Diane is my slightly more commercial practice.

I’m strategy-obsessed, words-obsessed, and unfamiliarity-obsessed. I like when a project is interesting not only in its content, but also in its method of making. I’m interested in what makes some things successful and others less so, the push-pull between brand and product, and most of all, the push-pull between familiarity and innovation. I like it when people are nice.
